And as far as maintenance goes, if you do have cracked asphalt, crack sealing is usually the best place to start. Sealing asphalt cracks will give you the best cost-benefit yield. Let Imperial Asphalt help with your residential or commercial asphalt crack sealing Rexburg, Idaho Falls, Pocatello, and more!

Whether its a driveway, a private lane, or a parking lot, your pavement is one of the first things people see when they visit your property. Filling asphalt cracks as early as possible with high quality, rubberized crack seal material will slow down deterioration, protect your pavement, and save you money.

WHY FIX ASPHALT CRACKS?

Natural ground movement and temperature-based contraction and expansion can cause asphalt pavement to crack; forming cracks in asphalt surfaces. Once a surface crack has reached full depth, water will be more likely to channel into and damage the base and sub base supporting your asphalt.

If not promptly and regularly addressed, water penetration can cause pavement cracks to spread rapidly, leading to alligator cracking, settling, pothole formation, and ultimately asphalt systems failure and a liability to the owner. Not to mention it can be quite the eyesore!

MATERIAL YOU CAN RELY ON

Effective crack sealing starts with a good sealant. The asphalt crack sealing product we use is an industry leading brand called Elastoflex. It’s manufactured by Maxwell Products in the Salt Lake Valley.

Our crack filler and joint sealant is a hot rubberized asphalt sealant material. Once injected in to cracks and allowed to cure, Elastoflex is specifically engineered to stretch with your pavement and keep up with Idaho’s highly versatile climate and thermal expansion/contraction rate.

Existing crack too big to traditionally seal? For larger cracks, we also use a Maxwell product called Gap Mastic. This sealant is a filler designed specifically for sealing off wider cracks in the pavement surface.

Crack Sealing Extends the life of your pavement

Idaho homeowners and businesses should seal parking lot and driveway cracks to avoid the spread of asphalt damage. During the crack sealing process, hot crack sealant material is injected into open cracks. As it cools, it forms a seal, keeping water and other debris out.
